Friends do Numero 28 in Notting Hill

I love pizza. Really I do. So much so, I’m extremely particular about where I’ll eat it – especially outside Italy Naples! Since experiencing ‘real’ pizza in the home of its origin 3 years ago, I’m my expectations to match it else where have been unrealistic.

Thankfully there are a few people I can rely on for good recommendations, and my  friend Anto – quite the food connoisseur, whose judgement on pizza I wouldn’t question (just as he would perhaps not question my blogging style… actually knowing him he would!), is one of them! He invited myself and Angela to dine with friends at Numero 28. With nothing in the name to suggest its cuisine there is an air of exclusivity about it, however upon arriving the atmosphere is welcoming – as thought visiting friends, which actually I was. Another great opportunity to make contacts within a social network of friends – outside social media… Glad I accepted this invitation!

I didn’t have a proper chance to fully indulge in eating Neapolitan style pizza from the family run restaurant, as I arrived late (and on a full stomach). However from the cheeky samples I managed to sneak off the plates of friends, I know I have to go back with nothing in my stomach but craving for good authentic pizza!

And that might be sooner than I know. Numero 28 restaurants are in New York – and I’ll be the Big Apple from the 19th August! Look out for my review.

p.s the gelato is a must try. I went for pistachio (I can always make space for a sweet treat) 😉
